NZ Health Retreat is an oasis in the middle of the beautiful Mount Maunganui. When I arrived at the Tauranga bus terminal, a warm hearted, P and P, greeted me. As a meat lover I was at first a little bit cautious about vegetarian food, but that turned out just fantastic! I haven't eaten soya sausages, tofu etc before. P and P gave me a special attention all the time I spent in the centre. No matter how sad and depressed I felt when I came in, I just couldn't help laughing with P and P. There is a special lifestyle and rhythm in the Om Centre. Your own inner world. It felt so therapeutic to walk around Mount Maunganui's beautiful walking track and watch birds, seals, and just breath in mother nature. After walking we just floated in the big thermal spa - under the blue sky. I couldn't have been more relaxed. In the room there is a carefully chosen relaxing and meditative CD collection, you own stereos, a Queen sized bed, a BIG bathroom and amazing views straight on to the green field. The big room with it's own entrance and yard gave me privacy that I needed while on retreat. The Centre was surrounded by different plants and flowers, which made me feel that you've come to Eden's paradise. Inside the centre there are all kind of spiritual objects, movies, music, and instruments. I liked the most the Centre's sincere, laugh full, caring and accepting atmosphere. P and P don't stare when they do treatments, because they do it from the heart. I enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and watching stars. After sitting by the fireplace we jumped into an outdoor spa pool and I felt how my worries and stress were just melted away like bubbles in the spa pool. I will never forget the feeling I had as I lay back in the spa pool, closed my eyes and listened to the sound of the nature. And when I opened my eyes, stars were twinkling like small light spots. Next time I want to try Centre's brand new Sauna with loudspeakers! Apart from the Breathwork sessions, The Journey was a mind blowing experience. I have always found it hard to get in touch with my emotions in a normal therapy. During the journey, Peter guided me into such a relaxed state of mind that I felt that I elevated up from my body. Peter was 100 percent present during my journey and I could trust him. Little by little I got to the state of mind where I could feel emotions again which were suppressed for years. I don't know If I have ever felt so present in my life. After two hours I felt that the journey had lasted for six hours. I felt reborn and walked 100 metres barefoot to the beach and stared at the sea and celebrated my new self. I wanted to have a concrete memory of that journey, so we bought a big jar that I filled with sand. This sand symbolised my new self-value which is now stable and always stays with me. After getting in touch with my suppressed emotions I'm ready to continue my journey by myself. Thanks P and P once again for supporting my healing and personal transformation. Time Out Live-In Health Retreats are individually created with the intention of suiting your own unique goals for your retreat.
It is all about you and we encourage you to focus only on you. This means switching off mobile phones and laptops. Inform your family and friends that you are away on retreat and not available during that time. This will allow your time to be meaningful, relaxed and allow integration.
We cater for one retreat guest at a time (or a couple in relationship). It is a personalised individual retreat focused on your personal development. You live in with us and we are available at all times.
Your retreat is private and confidential meaning that your personal information is not disclosed to anyone else except those who you share it with.
The property is smoke-free, drug-free and meat free.
One to One Healing Sessions:
We use healing techniques that work with both body and mind together. We use what we have found to be safe and effective ways to identify the source of psychological stress and transform it.
- Transforming Breathwork to help release past emotional trauma resulting from life experiences which may still be causing you psychological stress. Bringing them to the surface will assist in allowing new information to be integrated into your mind and body.
- "The Journey" sessions are emotional healing sessions that bring forth from your subconscious mind and into your conscious awareness the relevant issues and past memories which still cause unknown psychological stress in your body in mind. This guided process is done in a safe and self observing way. The results can be remarkable with change starting to happen straight away and further improve with time. (We recommend you read the book prior to arrival although it is not necessary. The name of the book is, "The Journey" by Brandon Bays. Most major book stores have this book available).
- Remedial massage. These are remedial massages to support detoxifying your physical body and relaxation.
- Exercise. We will encourage you to take part in exercise that suits your current health level while you are on retreat. Our highest recommendation for exercise if practical for you is to attend yoga classes at an extra cost per session. These sessions are highly recommended by us as they support and complement your retreat. As with our retreats, using the breath is the main focus and so is the practice of calming a stressed mind and finding practical ways to do this. Yoga sessions can assist you in opening your body and mind to a greater appreciation of being alive.
Our involvement is of the nature of guide, coach, facilitator, supporter and teacher and it is in this function we specialise in. We're quite friendly and laught a lot. We create a safe and supportive environment in which you can experience emotional and deep level healing and personal development.

If you decide to add other treatments and therapies after your arrival we will do our best to organise it for you so long as it does not encroach on your existing programme.

Retreat Guidelines
The property is smoke free, drug free (excluding prescribed drugs) and meat free. We may serve alcohol with dinner where appropriate.
Cell phones are not to be used while on retreat. We can receive urgent or important messages on your behalf on our phone line. If required, we can call back on your behalf. If you do bring a cell phone or laptop, we will look after it for you and give them back before you leave). Lap tops are not to be used for personal use. An exception for any urgent business matters can be made and time set aside for that purpose.
Our laundry and laundry products are made available for your use.
Leaving the premises needs to be arranged with us.
Respectful communication. The aim is to communicate as honestly and openly about anything that helps us to help you.
There will be no access to watching television or listening to radio during your visit, however we do make selected DVD's available for your viewing and relaxing musical CD's available. You are welcome to bring CD's that are relaxing and life affirming to be played quietly in your bedroom.
Things not to bring:
- Cigarettes - this could be your opportunity (if you are a smoker) to give them up. If you can not possibly go without them, as long as you respect our smoke free property environment, you may smoke cigarettes off premises as infrequently as possible.
- Non-prescription drugs
- Alcohol
- I-pods
- Magazines and books (unless relevant and supportive of your retreat). Please ask us if you are unsure.
- Preferably, no cell phones or laptops.
We are compassionate people and people mostly find us easy to get along with. We do recognise that changing your present lifestyle can be difficult and you might encounter some feelings of withdrawal from either substances, people or routines. We are here to support you so you can dedicate the time you spend with us entirely to your retreat programme and your goals.
